2024 GAME DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE

July 11-13, 2024 | Newman University, Wichita, KS

We are pleased to host the annual GDC at Newman University in Wichita, Kansas from July 11-13, 2024.

Call for Submissions

Submissions for this year's GDC are in the process of being approved, if you applied you should receive a response on or before 19 February so that you can make appropriate travel arrangements.

Playtests

Playtests last up to 3 ½ hours and offer authors a chance to watch experienced Reactors play a part of a game and offer feedback. To be considered for a playtest, games must have a complete game book and at least 15 completed roles at time of application and 20-25 completed roles by the time of the conference (biographies as well as victory objectives). Designers submitting for playtest sessions must submit their game materials with their proposal.

Workshops

There are two types of workshops offered at the GDC – game ideas or mechanics.

Game idea sessions offer authors the chance to give a brief presentation on a game and receive feedback and suggestions from audience members. You may “pitch” an idea for a game or ask for advice about a specific element of a game in development.

Mechanics sessions offer a perspective on game design and development that will aid attendees in thinking about their own games.
